SRF Laser Beam Data

OMEGA SRF laser beam data can be displayed by selecting the menu item OMEGA-OPS | View SRF Laser Data from the main window, and then entering the shot RID number. Alternatively, the SRF Laser Beam Parameters widget can be displayed by double-clicking on one of the RID numbers shown in the Available SRF Data Viewer.

To load data for a different RID number, enter the RID number and press either the Load Data button or Enter. The list of available RIDs can be displayed by hitting the Show Available RIDs button.

The table of laser beam data from the SRF Database shows:

For more information on mapping of data from SRF database to VISRAD parameters, see Importing SRF File Data into VISRAD.

To compute the beam energy hitting/missing the target, press the Compute Laser Power on Target button. An Enhanced Beam Radius can also be applied to each laser beam. This is useful in checking tolerances for beams close to the edges of targets.

After the laser-target interaction calculation, the fractions of laser power hitting and missing the target for each beam is updated in the table. In addition, the total beam power hitting/missing the target is summarized in the lower right boxes.

Beam parameters in the table can be sorted by any column by clicking on the column header.

A comparison of pointing parameters in the VISRAD workspace with those in the SRF database can also be displayed. To do this, in the SRF Laser Beam Parameters widget, check the box labeled: Compare SRF vs. VISRAD Pointing in the upper right portion of the dialog. To facilitate viewing, beam data are highlighted as follows:
